The city box almost went on a well

The NSF tile is a parts story

Homepage tiles say NSF Certified. Product copy is narrower, and that gap is the whole argument. Housings and wetted parts are described as component certifications under NSF/ANSI 42, 61, and 372. Forty-two is the chlorine, taste, and odor family. Sixty-one is component safety. Three-seventy-two is the lead-free materials mark. Those are real standards. They are not a finished whole-house listing under the Kind name for lead, PFAS, or cysts at every fixture. Certification databases I could still open showed OEM-held files for crystallization media and lamps rather than one Kind listing for an assembled city manifold or well tank. Kind brands the salt-free stage as eSoft and describes template-assisted crystallization. Calcium and magnesium stay in the glass. That figure is a manufacturer claim, not a certificate I could open on the live product pages. Hardness as a lab number does not drop, so soap will not lather the way it does after salt ion exchange. If you wanted the hardness number itself to fall, you wanted a different chemistry.

If you actually want ion exchange, Kind sells salt combos on both aisles. Pick the chemistry first. Then pick the cabinet that matches the pipe.

City compact units are sold as afternoon jobs. Bypass valves are recommended. Well tanks take longer, need a level pad, and the meter head wants dry power. Tank combos start at twenty-five psi. If you rent, get the landlord on paper first. Kind says a system can later be pulled and rehung where the next house has a usable main. That is a moving story, not a reason to skip permission at this address.

How the cart and the Florida box actually work
