The first thing that went wrong was already coiled in the shed

The generator arrived on a Tuesday. The carton was the right size. Who should skip the drive west of Parramatta

Skip it if you still need to hold the bar or hear the frame. Skip it if Saturday collection is the whole plan. The warehouse will not become a showroom because you brought the kids.

• You want to cancel after the card clears, or change the delivery street once checkout is done.
• You need a card refund for a change of mind. Edisons pays that path in store credit, minus a twenty percent handling fee.
• You planned a weekend pickup. Collection is Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm, and public holidays are shut.
• You want a courier company to collect on your behalf. They refuse that, because the desk takes fifteen to thirty minutes and wants the named buyer.
• You hire the machine out or resell it for profit. The merchant warranty pages say that cover does not apply.
• You expected a kitchen-appliance wall, a try-before-you-buy floor, or a licensed electrician included in the carton.

Two machines, and the wattage that actually matters

I am only going to name two products. A row of model codes is not a buying guide, and the live stickers move. First, the corded BAUMR-AG electric saw in the 2000-watt class. It is the no-fuel option for pruning within reach of a 240-volt outlet. Pages in this class list 220-240V input and a short mains lead, not a petrol tank and not a battery dock. Before you argue about bar length, decide whether the tree is close enough to a Type I socket that you will not daisy-chain three cheap leads across a wet lawn. Freight, the pickup window, and the fees in words

Couriers run 9am to 5pm on weekdays and stop at the property entrance. You may have to unload. Post-office boxes take parcels of twenty-two kilograms and under, or shorter than one metre. Sydney metro same-day slots exist on eligible parcels and are set to authority to leave.

• GST is already in the listed price. There is no surprise tax line at the end for a domestic order.
• Metro free shipping on most of the catalog, when the product is marked that way and the postcode qualifies. Regional and remote addresses pay a calculated freight fee.
• Change of mind: fourteen days from receipt, resaleable condition, store credit for twelve months, minus a twenty percent handling fee. Original freight is not credited when it was listed separately.
• Pickup at Seven Hills is free on products marked free shipping, after you pay and wait for release. Same-day collection is only for stock already in that warehouse.
• Optional extra residential warranty on selected lines is a paid add-on for the original buyer only. It is not transferable and it is not for commercial use.

Pickup is Unit 2, 2 Costello Place, Seven Hills NSW 2147, Monday to Friday 9am to 3pm, excluding public holidays. Select Pick-Up at checkout, pay first, then wait for instructions before you drive. Some lines still need a three-to-five business-day transfer into that building even after you tick collection. Collect within seven days of payment. The named person on the order must attend and present the card used (last four digits, same name as the order). And they will not let a courier collect for you. This is a paid-and-cleared warehouse counter. It is not a place to compare generator noise or test a mower deck on the car park.

Buy Edisons when the machine, the plug, and the postcode are already decided. The till is built for prepaid AU-spec gear with a Sydney parts bench. It is a poor place to browse, a worse place to reverse a paid order, and a useless place to arrive on a Saturday.

Limits that stay true after the tracking email
