dry-ager.com is the factory shop of Landig + Lava GmbH & Co. KG, Mackstraße 90, 88348 Bad Saulgau, Germany. The imprint lists Amtsgericht Ulm, HRA 723131, general partner Landig Verwaltungs GmbH (HRB 728244), and directors Manfred, Christian, Aaron, and Dr. Andreas Landig. The terms are blunt about a click. Product pages are descriptions, not binding offers. You make the offer in the basket. The seller can accept within five days by a written confirmation, by shipping, or by asking for payment. If none of that happens, you are no longer bound. PayPal is the exception: the final button can close the contract at once. Title stays with Landig + Lava until the price is paid in full.

I opened the cart on 26 September 2026 on dry-ager.com and on the German paths /shop/dry-ager-reifekuehlschrank-dx500/ and /shop/dry-ager-reifekuehlschrank/. Both Premium S cabinets printed Preis auf Anfrage, with a click-to-enquire control instead of an add-to-basket total. The English pages listed voltage, litres, and load, then stopped short of a live euro figure. Vision 360° did the same. I could not verify a current factory sticker for any plug-in cabinet on the official domain. That unpublished field is the one that matters most here, and I will not invent it.
What I could triangulate were dealer boards, not the factory till. The official Benelux shop listed a DX 500 Premium S Black from €2,695 including VAT without a bundle (€2,995 with one) and a DX 1000 Black from €5,625. Kreutzers asked €2,495 for stainless DX 500 and €2,849 with the LED salt wall. Rauschenbach showed €2,481.33 including 19% VAT, curb-free, for black housing plus a stainless door. White's UK listed a DX 500 at £2,450–£2,800 ex VAT and a DX 1000 at £4,750 ex / £5,700 inc. Treat those as 26 September 2026 market checks, not Landig's hidden list.
A 2017 export sheet still circulates with EXW prices of €2,695 for article DX0500 and €3,995 for DX1001. That PDF is nine years old, names Valentinstraße instead of Mackstraße, and should not be used as a 2026 quote. Custom RAL or Pantone paint is a sales-desk conversation. German copy said about ten days for a stock cabinet and about twenty days for a wish colour.

This shop is for a home cook or a small counter that already buys whole bone-in loins and will wait three to six weeks for one project. You can read a 0.1 °C setpoint and a 40–90% humidity band. You have a 220–240 V, 50 Hz circuit, a route for a wooden pallet, and space for the glass door. The first year is electricity, empty cycles, and the meat you put in.
Skip dry-ager.com if you want a second household fridge that happens to look like a steak window. Skip it if your only outlet is a US 115 V, 60 Hz socket; every DX and Vision 360° sheet prints 220–240 V / 2 A / 50 Hz. The US-facing UX 500 on dryagerusa.com listed $4,750 and 115 V on the same date — a different legal shop. Skip the factory cart if you live outside the EU and expected a no-questions return; withdrawal is written off when you are not an EU national and both residence and delivery sit outside the Union. Skip a custom colour if you assume you can send it back. Skip it if you need upstairs carry: terms stop at the curb stones.
Twenty kilograms or a hundred — the rest is paint and a lock
The DX 500 Premium S is the compact plug-in: 20 kg, about 1.0 kWh per day, shelf DX0026 and floor grate DX0028 in the carton. Housing is all-black powder coat, full stainless, or a RAL/Pantone custom in silk-matte or gloss. A lock is standard on stainless and custom; several dealer SKUs for all-black print no lock. The hinge is reversible. It can stand alone, sit side by side, or go into a wall if you keep the maker's ventilation drawing.
The DX 1000 Premium S is the shop's bestseller: 100 kg, about 1.8 kWh per day, hanger DX0011 in the carton, lock on every housing. Both Premium S cabinets share the 0 to +30 °C band in 0.1 °C steps and HumiControl from 40 to 90%, with no water tap and no tank. Both list SmartAging programs, DX AirReg airflow, a carbon filter, a UVC box, automatic defrost, and visual plus audible alarms. Both cite amending regulation (EU) 2024/1141 to Regulation (EC) 853/2004. That is a commercial hygiene frame for meat aging, not a home-cook immunity card.

If 100 kg still looks small, the homepage sells walk-in rooms built to a drawing and three retrofit production units for an existing cold cell. Those are quote jobs. I did not find a public SKU price for either line on 26 September 2026. Do not order a DX 1000 as a cheap stand-in for a walk-in.
What actually sits on the wooden pallet
A bare DX 500 is a cabinet, one slide-in shelf, and a floor grate. A bare DX 1000 is a cabinet and one hanger. That is enough to hang or rest a first loin if you already own labels and a cleaner. It is not a charcuterie kit. The factory bundles exist because most first orders forget the book, the tags, and the salt tray.
DX 500 Bundle S adds The Dry Aging Bible, twenty tags with skewers DX0040, and cleaner Z33145. Bundle M adds Saltair set DX0058 and tray DX0075. Bundle L adds hanger DX0013 and sausage-and-ham shelf DX0023. DX 1000 Bundle S adds the book, tags, cleaner, and two swivel hooks DX4055; M adds salt set DX0055 and tray DX0070; L adds two DX0020 full shelves and two DX0022 sausage shelves. Shop copy swings between 334 and 336 pages for the Bible. The US sister shop sold it at $100 against a $165 regular and warned that a large part only maps to the newer PRO S programs.
The optional DX 500 base is a matte-black self-assembly box, about 61 × 90 × 61 cm, with a soft-close drawer. Stacked under the cabinet it lands near 180 cm. White's listed the stand alone at £600 ex VAT / £720 inc. The DX 1000 podium is a 40 cm metal plinth, about 205 cm total. A 2017 sheet priced podium DX0080 at €459 EXW; I could not confirm that figure on the 2026 factory cart. The LED salt wall is a printed panel. The pages say it twice: visual effect only, no real salt.
No hose, 220 volts, curb stones: the install nobody photographs
HumiControl is why there is no drain hose and no tank to forget on a Friday. Humidity comes from room air, so a hot, dry closet will fight the setpoint harder than a cool scullery. The cabinet still needs a clear air path. The factory will send drawings for a single unit and a side-by-side pair. A UK dealer sheet asked for at least a 50 mm gap and rear stops; I did not find that figure on the German datasheet, so treat it as installer caution. The inner tub slopes backward so drip does not run out the door. That is a cleaning detail, not a licence to skip wiping.
Plan the last ten metres before you pay. The fridge travels in polystyrene-cardboard on a large wooden pallet. A forwarder with a lifting ramp phones to book a slot. Terms say freight is free curb — the public stones closest to the address — unless a written deal says otherwise. If nobody is there and the pallet comes back, you can be charged for the failed run. Self-pick-up is allowed at the Bad Saulgau plant: euro cash or a German debit card, cabinet upright only. Meat orders cannot be collected, and chilled loins ship UPS inside Germany only.
Germany rides free. The harbour is not your driveway.
Payment and shipping on dry-ager.com, read on 26 September 2026, split the map in three. Germany: no freight on the cabinet, €7.90 gross for small gear, €30 for a whole sirloin, free freight on a half. Europe: €150 gross per cabinet, €20 for gear (€10 Austria, €30 Switzerland); CH, Liechtenstein, and Monaco figures are net. World ocean LCL to a harbour: €400 net per DX 500, €600 net per DX 1000, €70 net for DHL-air gear. You pay duty and the truck from the harbour. Final non-EU freight is confirmed only after written acceptance, which the page distinguishes from the automatic confirmation email.

Invoice payment in Germany and Austria is sold as a Unzer transfer after the goods arrive, up to €7,000 per order. PayPal, debit, and cards move the warehouse clock sooner; stock small goods paid by card can leave with DHL within 24 hours on weekdays. A cabinet is still a pallet, not a parcel. Large industrial accounts can ask for delivery without prior payment by calling the desk. Outside the EU, bank fees and customs sit on you.
Two years of cover written for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland
Cabinet pages advertise two years of full warranty for private and commercial buyers, plus a ten-year compressor line. The PDF is narrower: Landig + Lava grants that maker promise in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland only. The clock starts on the purchase date. The remedy is a free repair by a local partner, or an inspection after you send the goods in with a copy of the original invoice. No invoice copy, no clock. Exclusions include abuse, environmental damage, ignored instructions, impact, unauthorised repairs, and ordinary wear. Traders get a one-year defect window in the GTC and an HGB §377 inspection duty.
If you buy as a consumer, note obvious transit damage to the driver and tell the seller. Silence does not kill your statutory claim, but it makes the argument messier. A 14-day withdrawal, where it exists, reimburses the price and standard delivery; you still send the fridge back at your cost, not freight-collect. Value can be deducted if you used it beyond inspection. A RAL colour is carved out. I did not find a published collection price for a DX 1000 already uncrated on a third floor. Budget the pallet, not a parcel label.
The useful line on dry-ager.com is not a sale tile. Both Premium S cabinets still hide the euro total, the compressor promise is written for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, and every DX sheet is a 220–240 V, 50 Hz machine. If those three facts do not match your kitchen, the glass door is a very expensive night-light.

SmartAging is a program list, not a wand
SmartAging is a set of factory programs for meat, ham, fish, sausage, cheese, herbs, and pasta, plus a manual mode. The UVC box is described as treating the full air mass at least once a minute, and a pre-clean program runs after a cycle. That is sanitation hardware. It does not make a warm, poorly sourced cut safe, and it does not replace local food rules. EU 2024/1141 is a commercial standard some restaurants must meet. A home kitchen still starts with sound product and throws a project that smells wrong. I will not dress that up as a miracle.
Landig publishes its own weight-loss figures: about 7–8% for bone-in beef after four weeks, about 12% after six, and about 9–10% for pork after three weeks on the US sister pages. Those are manufacturer numbers for costing a loin, not a promise that your 28-day rib will hit the same percentage in a garage at 32 °C. The homepage still talks about three to four weeks as a typical beef window. Longer is more time for a setpoint drift or a load that was never a candidate. Buy the loin from a butcher who will talk about feed and slaughter date, or from the shop's German heifer half-sirloin and Lipstye pork loin SKUs if you are in their meat zone.
Confirm voltage, housing, bundle SKUs, and whether your address is curb-only before the forwarder books the ramp.

Why does dry-ager.com hide the cabinet price?
Because the factory still treats DX 500, DX 1000, and Vision 360° as enquiry goods. On 26 September 2026 both language versions printed price on request. Colour, salt-wall option, and bundle change the ticket, and non-EU freight is not final until written acceptance. Email verkauf@dry-ager.com and ask for a dated quote that names the SKU, housing, VAT, and Incoterm. Dealer stickers are a cross-check, not a substitute.
Will a North American 120 V outlet run a DX 500?
Not as specified. The DX 500, DX 1000, and Vision 360° datasheets all list 220–240 V / 2 A / 50 Hz. A transformer is an installer project, not a factory promise I found on the page. If you need 115 V / 60 Hz, the UX 500 Black on dryagerusa.com listed $4,750 for up to 44 lb, and the UX 1500 PRO S started at $14,995. That is a different seller, warranty, and freight table.
Who pays if I cancel a pallet fridge after it arrives?
If you are an EU consumer with a standard, non-personalized cabinet, you have fourteen days from physical possession. Tell Landig und Lava GmbH & Co. KG in Bad Saulgau by email, post, fax, or the site's withdrawal button. They repay the price and standard delivery, but they may wait until the fridge is back. You pay the return. Pallet goods are estimated at up to about €100; a third-floor carry-out can cost more. Custom colour is excluded. Non-EU consumers with residence and delivery both outside the Union have no withdrawal right under that clause.
Does the ten-year compressor line cover a UK or US address?
The manufacturer PDF I read limits that promise to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. A UK dealer page on the same day printed twelve months labour and two years parts. The US shop has its own terms. Ask for the territory in writing before you rely on a ten-year compressor visit in Manchester or Denver. Keep the invoice. The factory can refuse a claim without a copy.
Is the LED salt wall a Himalayan block wall?
No. The DX-LED salt wall is a printed panel with remote colour modes. The shop says visual effect only, no real salt. Actual Saltair blocks are separate SKUs: DX0058 plus tray DX0075 on the DX 500, DX0055 plus tray DX0070 on the DX 1000. Buy the blocks if you want salt in the air. Buy the LED if you want a lit back wall in a dining room.
Does the forwarder carry the DX 1000 into the kitchen?
Default terms put it on the nearest public curb, after a phone appointment, with a lifting ramp off the truck. Inside carry and stairs are extra conversations. Measure the 165.0 × 70.0 × 74.2 cm carton path, plus pallet overhang, before you order. A failed run back to Bad Saulgau can be billed to you. If you can drive to the plant and keep the cabinet upright, self-pick-up removes the freight line.
