A London pearl studio, not a kidswear shop
Lily & Roo is a London jewellery studio on lilyandroo.com, not a children's clothing shop. A separate kidswear label, Lily & Ro, sells at lily-and-ro.co.uk. The jewellery company is LILY & ROO Ltd, Companies House 11384718, registered at GNR8, 49 Clarendon Road, Watford, WD17 1HP, VAT 310275839. Trustpilot still lists 1a Salcott Road, London SW11 6DQ. Founder Brittany Preston started the line after she could not find wedding jewellery that sat quietly against a dress. The about page says she leads more than twenty women, more than 40 percent of the jewellery is handmade, and all pearl pieces are made in the office just outside London, where staff also pick and pack. Extra components come from factories in the UK, India, and Thailand. There is no public store. Help is info@lilyandroo.com, live chat, or Instagram @lilyandrooldn.
The catalogue covers earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings, anklets, gift sets, and a wedding collection for brides, bridesmaids, and guests. Finishes include 925 sterling silver, 18ct gold-plated vermeil, 14ct gold-filled, and solid 9ct yellow, rose, or white gold. On 17 September 2026 the site showed US dollars for our session: a Gold Plain Chain from 74 dollars, a Gold Single Pearl Necklace at 128 dollars, a Gold Five Pearl Bracelet at 134 dollars, Gold Huggie Pearl Drop Earrings at 143 dollars, a Gold Ten Pearl Choker from 158 dollars, and a Solid Gold Curve Initial Letter Necklace at 345 dollars. A Gold Ten Pearl Choker and Five Pearl Bracelet Gift Set listed at 249 dollars against 293 dollars; the sterling twin sat at 303 dollars. Treat checkout as the live price. The shop header cites a 4.8 Google rating; Trustpilot showed about 4.6 from 1,187 reviews.
Vermeil, gold-filled, and solid 9ct: read the card
Gold on this site is not one metal. Vermeil is solid sterling silver micron-plated with 18ct gold, at least 2.5 micrometres thick. Gold-filled is a gold layer pressure-bonded to a core, described as five to ten times thicker than ordinary plate and more tarnish-resistant than a thin flash. Cards still mix labels: the Gold Five Pearl Bracelet offered 14ct gold-filled or solid 9ct, while the Gold Huggie Pearl Drop Earrings offered 18K gold-plated sterling or solid 9K. If the card does not say solid 9ct, assume plate or fill. Solid gold under one gram does not carry a UK hallmark. Recycled metals are used where the brand can, not as a claim that every gram is recycled. Diamonds are small, single-cut, and Kimberley Process certified. The help centre says the jewellery is nickel-free; that is a materials note, not a medical guarantee.
Pearl millimetres, detachable drops, and bridal gift sets
Pearl jewellery is the centre of the shop. The Gold Single Pearl Necklace, code 11001, uses a removable 4 to 5 millimetre freshwater pearl on a 16 or 18 inch chain. The Large Single Pearl Necklace, code 11004, steps the pearl to about 9 to 13 millimetres and adds a 20 inch option. The Gold Large and Small Pearl Necklace uses 18K gold-plated sterling, an extendable 16 to 18 inch chain, and 5 millimetre plus 3.5 millimetre pearls. The Gold Five Pearl Bracelet, code 21028, strings 4 to 5 millimetre pearls on 17 or 18 centimetre lengths. The Gold Huggie Pearl Drop Earrings, code 33007, use 11 millimetre hinged hoops, removable 9 to 13 millimetre pearls, and cubic zirconia or a 0.21ct diamond. Pearls are genuine and never synthetic. Product pages warn pieces are not suitable for children under three. That is a safety note, not a kidswear range.
The wedding collection groups pearl sets so a bride, bridesmaids, and mothers can match metal and pearl size. Gift sets such as the Ten Pearl Choker with Five Pearl Bracelet keep two pieces in one box; return them as a complete set or do not return them. Detachable pearls on several earrings let a wearer drop the pearls after the ceremony and keep the hoops. Sizing is published. Necklaces come in 16, 18, and 20 inches, plus extendable 16 to 18 inch chains. Bracelets are 17 centimetre and 18 centimetre; one-size styles use an extender. If you sit between sizes, buy the larger one. Custom lengths are a quote from info@lilyandroo.com and made-to-order lengths are non-refundable. Measure a necklace or bracelet you already like, laid flat, before you gift a party of eight.

Compare Lily & Roo pearl finishes and lengths →Hygiene rules, Hatton Garden lead time, and the personalisation lock
Earrings and engraving are where shoppers get stuck. Tried-on or worn earrings cannot come back for hygiene, even on an otherwise eligible order. Flatback earrings and personalised or custom-made products are excluded except when faulty, damaged, or not as described. In-house engraving sits on selected pendants and rings: pick type and font on the product page, stay inside the character limit, and use English letters. Other alphabets and emojis are out except a heart entered as <3. Laser engraving on some bangles and pendants goes to Hatton Garden and adds about five to six working days. Next-day delivery then means the next working day after the workshop returns the piece. Engraved and made-to-order items are final sale. Gift wrap is 6 pounds. Digital gift cards run from 10 to 300 pounds, never expire, and arrive by email.
I will not specify Lily & Roo for a bridal party until every person has a measured wrist and neck length, and until engraving is either skipped or accepted as final sale. Gold-filled and vermeil are useful finishes. They are not solid 9ct, and a 14-day, customer-paid return is not a high-street try-on.

Letterbox UK parcels, DDP duties, and countries they will not ship
UK fulfilment is a weekday studio. Hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm UK time. Orders after 2pm Friday wait until the next working day. Mainland standard delivery is free, two to four working days, usually Royal Mail Tracked 48. Next working day is 6.95 pounds via DPD before 2pm. Saturday delivery is 15 pounds via DPD before 2pm Friday. Northern Ireland standard is free in two to three working days. Standard boxes are meant for a letterbox; next-day and Saturday services may need a signature. International orders are mostly delivered duty paid. US standard is free over 120 dollars and 10 dollars below that, eight to twelve days with Liberty Express. US express is 20 dollars and two to four days with UPS on the shipping policy. Europe is 8 euros standard or 15 euros express. They will not ship to a published list that includes Russia and several North African and Gulf states.
Fourteen-day portal, DDP deductions, and the one-year defect warranty
Change-of-mind returns must start within fourteen days of receipt. The portal covers the UK, Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Sweden, and the United States. Other countries email info@lilyandroo.com. Unwanted postage is yours and is deducted in the portal. For DDP orders, the duty slice inside the product price is kept on a change-of-mind refund, so the credit can be smaller than the card charge. UK refunds are estimated at up to five working days; international up to twenty-one. Refunds return to the original method, including Klarna and Clearpay. Faulty or misdescribed goods get a prepaid label. The one-year warranty covers manufacturing defects, including breakage from a manufacturing fault, not accidents, wear, or third-party repairs. The help centre also mentions tarnishing, so photograph the issue and ask. Outside the year, repairs are quoted and can take up to ten working days.
- Who it is for: shoppers who want London-made freshwater pearl jewellery with published sizes and optional solid 9ct
- Who should skip: anyone who needs a store fitting, free unwanted returns, or children's clothing
- Skip also if you need engraving plus a refund path, or if your country is on the no-ship list
- Mainland UK standard shipping: free, 2–4 working days; next working day 6.95 pounds; Saturday 15 pounds
- US standard: free over 120 dollars, otherwise 10 dollars, 8–12 working days; express 20 dollars on the shipping policy
- Returns: start within 14 days; unwanted postage is yours; personalised, engraved, and worn earrings are out
- Warranty: one year for manufacturing defects; later repairs are quoted
Confirm the Friday 2pm cutoff, DDP tax treatment, and whether your SKU is engraved or made to order before you pay.

Which metal should I buy if I only want a gold look?
Start in 14ct gold-filled or vermeil if you want a gold look without a solid-9ct price. Gold-filled is the thicker bonded layer. Vermeil is sterling with an 18ct plate at least 2.5 micrometres thick. Neither is solid gold, and both need the care list of no sleep, shower, swim, sprays, or sweat. Choose solid 9ct when the piece will be worn hard or given as an heirloom, and remember items under one gram may lack a hallmark. Sterling silver is the honest white-metal option and usually the lowest price on a given silhouette. Match the finish across a bridal party instead of mixing filled, plated, and solid gold in the same photograph.
Can I kit out a bridesmaid group from one Lily & Roo order?
Yes, if you keep personalisation off the first order. Buy the same SKU, metal, and length for every person. Use a gift set only when each recipient should receive the same two pieces. Leave engraving until spellings are certain, because engraved goods cannot come back. Confirm 17 versus 18 centimetre bracelets with a string measurement, not clothing size. Add the five to six working days for Hatton Garden on made-to-order lines, plus courier time, plus the Friday 2pm cutoff. If one length is wrong and the date is close, the help centre would rather you refund and reorder than wait on an exchange. Hygiene rules still block tried-on earrings, so skip a group try-on in the hotel.
Who should skip Lily & Roo and buy somewhere else?
Lily & Roo is a poor fit if you need trays you can try, same-day click-and-collect, or a 30-day free-return clothing policy. Skip it if you must engrave a name and also keep a refund path. Skip it if you live in a country on the no-ship list, or if you need a graded mall diamond rather than small single-cut stones. Skip it if you want synthetic pearls, costume jewellery under 40 dollars, or children's clothing. Skip plated or filled gold if you will swim and sleep in the piece and then file a wear complaint. Buy a local goldsmith if you need a heavy hallmarked chain you can hold before you pay.
What payment plans, gift cards, and discount codes work at checkout?
The help centre lists Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Maestro, Shop Pay, Clearpay, and Klarna. Clearpay is UK instalment credit with late fees in the terms; you must be 18 or older and a permanent UK resident excluding the Channel Islands. Klarna cancels leftover instalments on a full refund and spreads a partial refund across remaining payments. NHS staff can look for a Blue Light Card code. Discount codes do not stack. Digital gift cards from 10 to 300 pounds apply in the gift or discount box. Loyalty Club starts with 300 points for opening an account; returned goods claw points back. None of those tools extend the 14-day return clock or unlock engraved items.
How do I care for a piece, and what does the one-year warranty cover?
Wipe pieces with a soft lint-free cloth after wear. Fasten necklaces before storage, keep items separate in a cool, dry, dark place, and make sure they are dry first. The brand says even solid gold can tarnish because of alloys; a jewellery cloth or a brief dip in a cleaning solution is the advertised fix. The refund-page warranty is one year for manufacturing defects, not fair wear, accidents, loss, or third-party repairs. After that year, email photos for a repair quote. Lost one earring? Ask for a single-replacement invoice instead of buying a new pair. Complimentary gifts must come back if a return drops you below the qualifying spend, or their recommended retail price comes off the refund.
Verdict: buy the finish on the card, not the word gold
Lily & Roo is a credible London pearl and wedding-jewellery studio if you want freshwater pearls, published chain lengths, gold-filled or solid 9ct options, and duty-paid shipping on many international orders. It is a weak choice if you need to try earrings, reverse an engraving, or return unwanted goods postage-free. Buy the finish named on the card, measure 16 versus 18 inches before you gift, and leave Hatton Garden lead time on the calendar. Confirm price, courier, and tax at checkout on the day you order. Use the portal within fourteen days if a non-personalised piece is wrong. The honest job this shop does is quiet bridal metal from a named London studio, not kidswear, not a diamond house, and not a fitting-room retailer.
