Your tax will move. A school email can change the education tile. Treat the figure you see today as today’s figure. Here is where I got stuck, briefly. Annual billed monthly still reads as a year. You are not on a casual month-to-month that you can drop on a whim after day fifteen and walk away clean. The refund page is blunt: prepaid annual can come back inside fourteen days of the first purchase; after that you may still owe the rest of the year. Quietly, auto-renew sits on unless you turn it off in the account, without a parade. That is the line people miss because the monthly button looks smaller.

Where a refund does go through, the shop can keep a handling slice of about five percent for processing and bank fees. That is not a shipping charge. There is no shipping. Do not mix them in your head. I mixed them in my head the first time. Then I opened the refund policy and stopped.

Bought through Apple or Google? Those stores keep their own cancel buttons and their own clocks. Foxit’s own refund text says a third-party policy can prevail. That is not a trick. That is how app stores work. If you started the subscription on a phone tile, do not email the desktop support desk expecting them to unwind Apple. They will tell you to open the store settings. They are right.

What still will not work after you pay

You will buy a second seat you cannot use, or you will fight IT. Walk away then. If you need a certified long-term archive flavor, or a print-house preflight that your printer already specified, check that job against the live feature list before you pay. The assistant credits on the subscription are a monthly pile, not an unlimited well. Burn them on huge packets and you will hit a ceiling. Extra credit packs exist as a separate add-on; I am not turning that into its own shopping decision. The one-time desktop licence skips those extras on purpose. Also: this is not a printer shop. Nobody is coming to unjam a tray. If that sentence feels obvious, good. Plenty of people still seem to expect a box.

Auto-renew is the part you will forget

Subscriptions renew. That is not a scandal. It is the business. On the yearly prepaid path, the card on file gets the next year unless you cancel. Foxit says they will notify you of a rate change before the new term. I did not receive a renewal mail on this visit because I did not complete a live charge, so I will not fake a screenshot of one. The unpublished part is whether your particular bank will flag the renewal as a new merchant. Some do. Keep the original merchant name in your records.

I almost started the trial on my phone (do not, if you want Foxit’s own refund desk later). Direct on the website keeps cancel and refund on Foxit’s terms. The phone stores keep them on Apple’s or Google’s. It is the same software, but you leave through a different door. Pick that door before you pay, not after the fourteenth day has gone.

Questions I would ask before I tap pay

Can I get the money back after I already opened a file?

On a direct annual prepaid plan, Foxit’s refund page still talks in fourteen days from the first purchase, not in unused hours inside the app. Opening a lease does not pause the clock. If you are past day fourteen, you may still owe the year you agreed to. A discretionary refund for a product that does not match its own documentation is a rare exception, not a plan. Screenshot the policy next to your receipt the day you buy, while both are still in the same inbox thread.

I paid in the App Store. Who do I actually call?

Apple or Google, depending which store charged you. Cancel in that store’s subscription list. Foxit’s desk will point you there, and the refund policy says a third-party store’s rules can win. The 1-866-693-6948 line is for direct Foxit purchases you can identify with an order number. A phone-store charge will not look like that order number. Do not sit on hold arguing about a receipt they cannot see. Write down which store charged you before you forget.

Does it keep charging if I forget the anniversary?

Yes. Auto-renew is the default until you turn it off in the account. Yearly prepaid bills the next year. Monthly-billed annual still runs as a year. If the price changes, they say they will tell you before the new term. Do I need the plus version if my phone never touches PDFs?

My office only talks Adobe. Should I even try?

If the workflow is locked to Acrobat by policy, plugin, or a records system that will not ingest anything else, skip Foxit. A cheaper seat you cannot file is not a saving. If your office only means “we all send PDFs,” Foxit will open those files like any other editor. The test is not the file extension. The test is whether someone in IT will refuse the tool. Open the live page, pick the seat you will still use in month eleven, and put the refund date in the same calendar you already use for rent.
