Organic on a Babybio tin is a legal status, not a wellness slogan. Vitagermine says products are controlled and certified by Ecocert. The French AB (Agriculture Biologique) mark and the EU organic leaf sit on Regulation (EU) 2018/848: at least 95 percent of agricultural ingredients must be organic. Organic livestock rules bar routine preventive antibiotics and GMOs. Formula and baby meals then face infant-food law, which sets compulsory nutrients for infant formula and follow-on formula. The commitments page, checked 16 September 2026, cites at least 84 percent French ingredients on a first-half 2024 calculation. Origins can shift with harvests. A green logo does not prove a jar will suit your child, and it is not a medical claim.
Primea, Optima, Caprea, Optigest: matching a tin to an age, not a diagnosis
The World Health Organization recommends exclusive breastfeeding for six months, and Babybio prints the hierarchy the law requires: breast milk suits each infant best. If you cannot or do not wish to breastfeed, a doctor or midwife should name a formula. First-age milk is infant formula from birth; second-age is follow-on from about six months with complementary food; croissance runs from roughly ten to twelve months through three years. Carton cow’s milk is not infant formula. Primea is the classic French cow’s-milk recipe. Optima adds organic FOS/GOS fibres and lactic ferments. Glass is heavy; pouches travel better and recycle worse. Recipes follow seasons, so a Landes carrot one month may show another origin the next. Six-tin subscriptions are bulky if the baby refuses the recipe. Committed 12- or 24-month milk plans are a budget tool, not a clinical lock-in; ending them early is an exception. Can I start Babybio jars at four months without asking anyone?
The catalogue prints “from 4 months” because French complementary-food windows often open there, not because every four-month-old is ready. A committed milk subscription is harder to escape than a one-off jar; health-based early exits need written evidence.
